As part of my sounds collection i pulled my iphone at the london tube and recorded it while standing inside the cart. The recording is from the second i left a station until we got to the next one (including an opening doors). No process was done.

A recording made around 7:30pm at night in mid october of 2012 of leaves skittering across an asphalt street, making that unique, crackly sound. You will also hear a train off in the distance which i think adds to the sound-scape of fall. At 1:51 into the recording a car whooshes buy and with it, a cluster of leaves trailing behind it trying in vain to keep up. . . That's always been a wonderful sound sequence for me to hear. The microphones are facing across the street to the el tracks which cross diagonally across the block at this point. The curvature of the tracks causes the squeaking of the wheels. Trains heading into the loop (north) tend to travel more slowly than those heading south. Cars accumulate at the intersection of harrison and wabash to the south (left). Time of recording was 5:41pm. I tried to get a surround recording using mics, but there was a horrible street musician playing off in the distance. I thought it wouldn't be clear in the recording, but one of the mics picked him up quite well. Recorded from fairly close to the action with a zoom h3 using the standard microphone. Spoken voices are from the instructor and a group of elderly orienteering runners who blundered into the middle of the battle. Weapons mostly 5. 56mm sa80 rifles and 7. 62 gpmg. This is the digital belgian railroad crossing alarm sound. The belgian railroad company infrabel replaced all the mechanical bells at railroad crossings with a pulsating digital sound that they claim to be more efficient and safe then the previous analog bell sound. Infrabel made this recording available online as part of a media campaign about the replacement.
